Why the LEC lights up in orange
Why the LEC lights up in orange
In Austria alone, every fifth woman over the age of 15 is affected by physical or sexual violence, worldwide it is even every third woman. The building of the LEC test bench for large engines on the TU campus in Inffeldgasse in Graz will also shine in orange until December 10th and thus visibly support the UN-Campaign, supported in Austria by Soroptimist International Austria, the Ban Ki-Moon Center for Global Citizens and HeForShe Graz.
Supporting the campaign is a very important concern for Andreas Wimmer, Managing Director of the LEC. The same applies to gender diversity in the immediate area of the Large Engines Competence Center. Wimmer: “As a research facility in the field of mechanical engineering, the LEC has 18 percent women in the scientific staff. I believe that this also makes us a role model in the area of gender diversity and also a very family-friendly, multicultural and interdisciplinary employer. ”
