Fünf Teams aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien und Österreich präsentierten ihre Lösungen Ende September einer Fachjury unter der Leitung von Nina Simon (LEC). Im Anschluss wurden die drei besten Lösungen ausgewählt.

Und das sind die LEC Data Challenge Sieger 2021:

Platz 1 dotiert mit 3.000 Euro:
Team Halti aus Österreich , Matthias Schwab, Adela Moravova, Christoph Angermann

Platz 2 dotiert mit 2.000 Euro:
Team NAISML aus Italien, Leonardo Pulga und Claudio Forte

Platz 3 dotiert mit 1.000 Euro:
Team Endrikat aus Deutschland, Sebastian Endrikat.

Die Preisverleihung fand im Rahmen des Symposiums „Nachhaltigkeit in Mobilität, Verkehr und Stromerzeugung“ im Grazer Kongress statt.

Christoph from the winning team said:
„We were not familiar with the exact processes in a combustion chamber, nor did we know about any correlations between acceleration and pressure sensors. Therefore, it was very difficult for us to find suitable data preprocessing techniques, which meant that we focused strongly on the algorithmic architecture of our machine learning model. We guess that optimization of the model architecture itself distinguished us from other competitors and enabled us to achieve the best results on the evaluation data.“

Matthias Schwab from Team Halit adds:
„Being able to attend the award ceremony as well as the following congress was a great experience for us. We were able to share our knowledge with different people and got interesting insights into new topics“
