Emission-Free Ship Engines in Sight at the LEC
Nearly two years ago the the Europe-wide innovation project HyMethShip was launched. Its goal is to develop an integrated system for almost emission-free deep-sea shipping with a 97% reduction of greenhouse gases. Even in the current situation, the project at the Graz LEC, one of the world’s leading research institutes for large engine technology and COMET K1 centre, is continuing as planned. To this end, the staff of the LEC are currently constructing one of the largest and most innovative engine test beds in Austria.
For us at the LEC the success of our research depends strongly on experimental investigations at our test beds. Without these measurement results even the researchers will not be able to continue their work at some point. – Prof. Andreas Wimmer, CEO and Scientific Director of the LEC
