A tour of the unparalleled test bed infrastructure was followed by a welcome and official opening by Dr. Christian Buchmann, Minister of Economic Affairs of the Province of Styria, and Prof. Horst Bischof, Vice Rector of Graz University of Technology. LEC CEO Andreas Wimmer introduced his guests to the world of large engine research. The official start of operation of the LEC was heralded by the live start of an LEC engine including the taking of a measurement. Live music accompanied the convivial celebration.

 

Thoughts on the opening of the LEC:

LEC EvoLET is a further example of the excellent cooperation between business and science in Styria. The competence center’s projects will have a significant influence on the future of mobility. In upcoming years, around 40 highly qualified research positions will be created in Graz thanks to the center!  -Dr. Christian Buchmann, Minister of Economic Affairs of the Province of Styria.
