Roadmap towards robust hydrogen combustion
Roadmap towards robust hydrogen combustion
The authors Bernhard Rossegger, Peter Grabner, Kevin Gschiel and Martin Vareka present innovative measurement methods to investigate the influence and effects of oil droplets on combustion anomalies and identify possible solutions. The study compares three approaches, including the carbon balance method, a deuterium-based tracer method and mass spectrometry.
It also shows how isotope analysis of hydrogen can be used to determine whether it originates from fossil sources. An important building block for global decarbonisation.
The study underlines the LEC’s research activities for climate-neutral energy and transport solutions and provides valuable impetus for the development of emission-free drive technologies.
